General Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern the use of the ASLtrainer, which offers assistance in learning American Sign Language. The ASLtrainer is operated by the Swiss Association Of Deaf Sonos, hereinafter also referred to as “we”. Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully before subscribing to the ASLtrainer on asltrainer.com. The use of the ASLtrainer is reserved for those people who accept its terms and conditions unreservedly and without reservation.
If these terms and conditions are not adhered to by a user, we reserve the right to prohibit or revoke their access to the ASLtrainer.
Language for Correspondence
The languages for correspondence are English and German. Correspondence must preferably be made in writing.
Account
When you create your account, you must provide all information truthfully. The minimum age to create an account is 18 years. Minors may only use the ASLtrainer under the supervision of an adult.
Account sharing is permitted within a private household. Please note that the password for your account must be kept confidential. Also remember that you are responsible for your account and therefore for what other users do with it.
Your contact information must be kept up to date so that we can contact you if necessary. Please check your information regularly in your account and update them if necessary. You can find information about data protection of the ASLtrainer in the privacy policy.
You can delete your account at any time. If you still have an existing subscription, this will expire and will also be deleted.
Payment
The subscription can be paid with various credit cards. Which one are supported you see while the payment process. We use Stripe for payment processing. By taking out a subscription, you agree that the information necessary to process the payment will be transmitted to Stripe and managed by Stripe. The contents of the learning application are fully available to you immediately after successful payment.
If you have outstanding payments, your subscription may be temporarily blocked, for example, if your credit card has insufficient funds or has expired.
If you suspect misuse of your access data, you must change them immediately and report the suspicion to ASLtrainer.
Subscription Extension and Cancellation
Your subscription will be automatically renewed at the end of the paid period. If you would like to cancel your subscription, you can do this in your account under the “Account” tab. If you cancel your subscription, all functions of the ASLtrainer remain intact until the end of the period you have already paid for and you can use your subscription to its full extent until then. Partially used billing periods will not be refunded or credited.
The cancellation must be made before the end of the already paid period. We recommend cancelling at least 24 hours before the end of the period you have already paid for so that no misunderstandings arise due to a time difference.
Prices
Prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and include applicable sales tax. With automatic renewal, the subscription is renewed at the price stated when the subscription was taken out before discounts and vouchers are deducted. Prices may occasionally change. We will notify paying customers of any price changes via email at least 30 days in advance. The email goes to the email address you stored in your account. If you do not agree to the price change, you can stop the renewal of your subscription until the end of the period you have already paid for by cancelling your subscription. If you do not cancel your subscription, we will assume that you agree to the price changes and want to keep your subscription at the new price.
Please note that the price does not include internet access fees.
Availability
We cannot guarantee the uninterrupted operation or uninterrupted availability of the ASLtrainer. In the event of an interruption in availability, loss of your data or a hacker attack, we are only liable to the extent that this is due to an intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty on our part.
Which browsers and which versions of browsers are supported may vary without warning or notification. You can find an indication of this in the FAQ.
Availability is also related to Stripe, our payment processing partner. Country-based availability is subject to change at any time without notice, particularly if such changes occur at Stripe.
The ASLtrainer is scheduled to be available in the following countries:
Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Ghana, Gibraltar, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Canada, Kenya, Croatia, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, Thailand, Czech Republic, Hungary, USA, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Cyprus.
The subscription does not give you a right to the availability of a certain number of learning modules. We reserve the right to reduce or increase the number of learning modules.
Copyrights and Rights of Use
The copyrights and all other rights to content, images, photos, PDFs and other files in the learning application belong to the Swiss Association Of Deaf Sonos or other rights holders. If you would like to use any of these elements outside of the learning application, you must obtain written consent from the copyright holder in advance. Unless you are using an element in a private context, which has a clear, unambiguous indication that it may be used outside of the learning application.
The code in various programming languages also belongs to the Swiss Association Of Deaf Sonos, and other rights holders. All code may only be reproduced with the express written permission of the copyright holder.
You agree that when using the ASLtrainer you will receive updated code automatically and without further notice.
Devices on which the ASLtrainer is Used
The devices such as computers, tablets or smartphones on which you want to use the ASLtrainer are your responsibility. If any maintenance costs are incurred, these must be borne in full by you. The purchase and operation of the devices is also entirely your responsibility.
Liability When Using The ASLtrainer
We are not liable for damages arising from the use of the ASLtrainer unless there is a legal obligation for us to be liable. This applies not only to technical damage, but also to all other types of damage such as personal injury through mental and physical as well technical damage including application crashes, incompatibility with user hardware or software or any other technical failures. We are not liable for any damages incurred if we have a failure in the availability of the application. We are also not liable to financial damage of using this application. Users assume full responsibility for any damages or losses arising from the use of the ASLtrainer application. In addition to this ASLtrainer is also not liable if we have been informed of possible damage that may result from the use or inability to use of the ASLtrainer. We are not responsible for any form of damage whilst offline and/or online for all of users of ASLtrainer.
Data Protection
By using the ASLtrainer you also agree to its privacy policy.
Transfer of Rights
The Swiss Association Of Deaf Sonos has the right to transfer the rights and obligations granted to it by you in part or in full to another association, another company or another person, without your consent being necessary.
Changes
If there are any changes to the terms and conditions, account owners will be informed via email. The email with information about the changes will be sent to the email address stored in the account. If you do not agree to the changes to the Terms and Conditions, you must cancel your subscription and refrain from using the ASLtrainer from the time the changes take effect.
Effectiveness
Should individual provisions of this agreement be or become ineffective, this will not affect the validity of the remainder of the agreement.
Jurisdiction
Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Winterthur in Switzerland.
